Default 3500/3600 users, why are you all going to a 3800?

Im just curious why lots of 3500/3600 users are bumping up to a 3800? What kind of differences/changes will it make? Ive got recommendations ranging all the way from a 3200 to a 3800. 3500 would be right in the middle, so why is everyone going to a 3800? Is a 3800 too much for the street? How much of a difference is it going to make on gas mileage coming from a 3500? What kind of gas mileage are you getting now with a 3800? (please list all mods) Thanks

it's all going to depend on the type of converter you get not just what the stall is. Supposively the Yank SS series are more streetable. I don't think a 3800 is too much for the street. People daily drive their cars with 4000+ stalls.
Have you actually ordered your converter yet? If not all you have to do is TALK TO DEREK! Tell him what mods you have done, what you plan to do in the near future, what your goals are with it (ET & 60' or street performance), your concerns about gas milage and any other concerns or questions you have and I will gaurantee Derek will fix you up right. These aren't converters they just pull off the shelf like a Yank or Vig, they are custom built especially for your needs. Just take the plung and DO IT!

Yanks, And VIG's aren't your everyday off the shelf converter either. I can tell you that my VIG3600 #7 pump converter wasn't sitting on anyones shelf!

I went from a pretty much stock car w/a Pro Torque 2800 stall to a all bolt ons car w/a Vig 4400 stall and driving on the street was really no different from one to the other. ahh well just it felt fast. hehe...I cant tell ya about gas cause I pretty much only drove it on the highway and at that point it was pretty damn good.

I know have a TCS 5,000 stall in my car and it also feels fine driving around town on the street. I cant tell ya about WOT/track yet cause my tranny is not holding up. There will be changes made soon!

You really need to get the best stall for your mods ya know. I mean if your looking for ET anyway. Remember if you going to do more mods and go faster you might have to up the stall. So it depends on how you want to go about it. You really need to map out your goal and then go from there.

Good luck,

Miriah
