GM automatic shift knobs

GM automatic shift ***** Ive noticed that there are 2 different shift ***** in the f-bodies. One being a T handle with the button on the side and the other one with no T and the button is on the top. Did the Camaros come with the handles with no T and the Firebirds came with the T? If so, anyone have a T handle in their Camaro? Do they make aftermarket shift shifters/*****? I really dont have any interior mods, but since Im going to need a shifter and **** for my conversion, I might as well consider an aftermarket one. Thanks

yes you can use a t-handle on your camaro.

Got my t-handle from summit. That would be cool, putting one on a Camaro - I've never seen that done before.

Anyone using a Firebird (T-handle) shifter in a Camaro? Im just trying to gather up the little things that I will need for my conversion and I noticed that the Firebirds and Camaros have different shifters. I like the Firebirds better, but I wasnt sure if the mechanism or fitment was the same. To me, I think the Camaro shifter is boring and that the Firebird has a more of a comfortable feel when resting your hand on it. Plus it seems to feel better when manually shifting. I didnt want to go with an aftermarket shifter because I havent seen any for Camaros. If youre using one in a Camaro or if you know that the fitment is the same, please let me know. Also, do aftermarket shifters exist for autos.? Thanks

All you need to do is either buy a t-handle from gm or go to the junk yard and get one for like 10 bucks if that. You dont need anything to convert it but the handle it self. All you have to do is pull out the clip and slid the old shiter off and put the new one in and put the clip back.

I wouldnt even know where to start to look for one thats out of town. Is there one out there that has a lot of late model car stuff or ones that deal with f-bodies in particular? Or what about an online junk yard?! Anyhow, I rather have a new one, but if I can find one thats in new condition but that has been salvaged, then I would do that. Any ideas where I could get one? Or what about a new one, who has the best prices on GM OEM products? Thanks

From my experience ask if they have the parts or at least the car u want to guet it from, then go there in person to deal. Some J-yards do not remove those items from cars and u might have to do it yourself.

Re: Anyone using a Firebird (T-handle) shifter in a Camaro? I think some of the OTHER Pontiacs use it also...I never really looked closely, but I think the T-handle in my Bonneville SSE is the same as the one in my TA
