Ok heres my problem i have a 1998 s10 2.2 trans has no drive but will move if manual shft i have a trans out of a 1998 firebird thelook the same even the same converter i have to change the tail shaft but on thing is the shift link shaft that goes in the trans the one the firebird is short and does not accommodate the netural safety switch can this be remover with ease i can do anything motor wise but stil learing with the trans thanks

 

Swap the linkage shaft and you will be set

 

so they are the same trans thats cool but how do you swap the shaft from the pic ive saw it look like it has nut on the inside but i didnt know if it has any thing deeper inside thanks you
