Vig 2800 + Tuning????

Vig 2800 + Tuning???? Hi folks, this is my first post so be gentle with me........I'm still a newbie 
I've been reading quite a bit about torque converters trying to figure out what stall to go with, what brand to get etc. Well, I ended up going with a Vig. 2800 and I'm having it installed tomorrow. The car is a 2002 Firehawk.
One question that I can't seem to find the answer to (yes I've tried the search function) is do I need to do any tuning with LS1 Edit/Predator in order to run this converter???
The last converter I had was on my '79 WS6 T/A......no need for all this fancy tuning.
My '97 T/A w/heads and cam ran pretty well with the stock torque converter so I left it that way until I sold the car for the Hawk.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Vig 2800 + Tuning???? The only thing you may have to do is adjust the shift points. Post converter you may be short shifting or hitting the rev limiter but you never know whats gonna happen till ya throw it in and put it to the test. When I put my Vig 2800 in years back I had no problems except the car was shifting around 5600 so I had to raise the points. Some people get problems with minor surging or a low idle but again you have to get the verter in first and test it out. I recommend using autotap to check your points after the verter is in. Other than that I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just get a good tire in back to help you off the line and enjoy.
