Default Converter not locking consistently

Some times the converter will lock up right away and other times it will take a little longer and when it is locked sometimes it will just unlock for no reason. This started happening with my yank ST 3500 when the weather started getting colder, then I install ed the TR 224 and the problem became worse (the tuner forgot to turn of the Misfire Detection Code) got that fixed then the tranny died on me. I replaced the tranny and put in a Vig 3600 to see if that would fix the locking up problem, but it acts exactly the same as the Yank. What Gives? Is it the Cold weather or my tune? I'm afraid that the converter is hurting the trans and I don't really feel like blowing another one. <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

Has anyone else experienced this type of problem?

Do you have scan tool like autotap? You may use it to check if there are any misfires.
Not sure how your tuner turned off misfire detection code, but I believe there are still enough misfires that cause the TC to unlock.
Otherwise, it is mechanical issue like tranny and/or TC failure.

Good luck,

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think it is the tranny or the converter because i just replaced them both and they are acting the same as my old set-up. The misfires are being caused by the size of the cam Correct? I do have autotap I will try and monitior to see if i have any misfires, but if I do how else can I get rid of the misfires besides what already is done. This is really a PIA it is killing my gas milage and probably my transmission.
