Default Flexplate Bolt Issues, Tci Users inside please!

I just installed my 80e with a tci flexplate, i went to bolt up my converter and the bolts that i am using hit the rear cover bolts, they are a factory gm bolt, what are all you other guys running?? Thanks for any help!!

I think you need m10X1.5X20mm. Or you might need m12x1.5x20mm but I think its the m10 you need to get like a hardened bolt.

Ya i got the right bolt. the head of the bolt seems too thick though

Hmmmm...can you explain more? What are your flexplate bolts hitting? Mine werent even close to hitting, the TC should have legs or mounting tabs that hold it away from the flexplate. I had my torque converter bolts hit part of my dustshield, i just cut the dust shield to fit.

He's saying the heads of the TC bolts are hitting the heads of the rear cover bolts. Make sure you don't use any washers and that the heads of the bolts go fully into the counterbore of the TCI flex plate. The ARP bolts have a really thin head on them and won't hit, just an option. I bought some grade 8's from ACE and didn't hit as well but were close.
