Tranny doesn't shift at the track.
My trans shifts right at 6500-6600 on the street with no apearent problem.(On a 26 inch ET street). When I go to the track on the same tire the trans will sometimes hit the limiter on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift or shift just below the in the 6,800-6,900 range. My rev limiter is set at 7,000 rpm. I thought that the trans might be getting hot at the track. I have a big trans cooler. 32,000 GVW. I've made multiple runs back to back on the street with no problems. What do Ya Think?
Could be one of two things. If you allow the tranny to cool down quite a bit between runs, it will shift at a higher rpm then it would fully warmed up on the street. Another thing: if you race in OD on the street and D at the track, the tranny will shift 100-200 rpms higher in D compared to OD.

I do usually leave the car in D3 at the track. I'll try leaving it in D4. I thought the trans would shift higher if it was hot. Guess I was wrong. Thanks for the help.
My setup makes max power at about 6300 rpm. I want it to shift at about 6700 rpm. I don't like hitting the rev limiter at 7,000 rpm. I drove the car last night. I made some runs on the street. I made about 10 passes with the car. On the first 5 runs or so the trans shifted at 6600-6700 rpm. The last couple run the trans was shifting at about 6800-6900. Kinda werid. I think I might get Jim at Speed Inc. lower the shift points a little. I don't want to spin the short block over 6800 rpm. All runs were in overdrive. Having the car in D4 did seem to help.
