Default Tranny lines

does anyone know how much pressure is running through the cooler lines when the car is at WOT? i was asking b/c if there was another way to run the lines besides the backwards way GM ran them all the way across the front of the motor compartment. i was just gonna use a regular rubber lines with some hose clamps on them. will that work?

I'm no expert:

For as long as I've been screwing around with cars and such ... 3/8 rubber fuel line and hose clamps has worked on trany cooler lines. At Ford Dealerships in the 80's I installed several HD trany coolers on brand new pickups (this would be your heavy duty towing package you salesman sold you) with this same method ... I really don't believe much has changed as far as converter outlet relief pressures over the years. There are cleanout filter kits available still today from trany parts suppliers and they use this same method. I use to just use a large inline fuel filter!

I believe you'll be fine with using fuel line hose and hose clamps ...
