Just would like to know so i can figure out if the converter or the tranny is broke. The converter is in there and the tranny pump spins but i have no gears. The converter spins but the car neutraled out. Linkage is fine.

How did you test to see if your tranny pump is ok?

Chuck from FLP said to fill it with fluid and check it. Then start the car and if the fluid level drops then the pump is working. So we tried it and it confirmed it. Also there is a hole on the driverside where you can pull a plug out and screw in a pressure gauge and at idle in park it is suppposed to be 100 PSI.

well, my front pump was bad.. Both the tabs were sheard off of it.... The tranny is being rebuilt and a new pump installed.

How do you plan on testing a converter?
