Default 4l80e ?

I am having a real hard time seating my torque converter. I have looked at the other threads and it seems I have done everything correctly. I followed the manual to the best of my (poor) abilities. Any body have any ideas of why i can't seat the T/C. I can turn the turbine shaft by hand. its tight but I can do it.

I have even proped the tranny verticle to try to set it into place and I get nothing.

Every so often a converter can be a pain to get it, But are you sure you have the correct converter?

Its the one that came with it. 02 4l80e.

I spun it around while rocking it back and forth... I messed up the pump gasket pulling the pump so I will try again tomorrow.
any tips or tricks for getting the pig to fall in? I used the bell housing bolts to help give me a better grip.

Just be patient and spins but do not push in on it let it slide in with a gentle nudge every so often. Good luck wish I could tell you more . Have you had the pump apart by the way ?

yes I did, I cleaned them to make sure I didn't have any metal filings in them. Sounds like I did something wrong with the pump?

Well if you put the center gear in upside down it can make it very difficult to install the converter, In the center gear bevel must go toward the pump face.

i too had alot of trouble installing my fuddle last week. also once i got it in, and the trans bolted up, i could spin the converter freely until the bellhousing was 1/8-1/4" from tight. I know it was seated fully as the measured depth was very close to that of the stocker, and it was engaging the pump. i just figured this one was a bit long. Will that **** stuff up if its a little tight??

performabuilt you are a damn genius. This is the second time you have bailed me out. I was looking on your website and didn't see any listing for parts. I would like to start ordering my parts through you. Not that I am gonna be making orders on a constant basis buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, You have my business from here on out.

On a side note I know it went in cause uh when I was setting it down it went right in and crushed the hell out of my fingers.
