Default reverse bangs hard shifting into gear

Man, it feels like the shaft is going to break off when I shift into reverse from park. Feels like a neutral drop. Idle is normal like its been for 6 years.

what causes that in a 4L60E tranny? Going into drive is normal.

Otherwise, the tranny is operating PERFECTLY.

Did it always do this? Has the transmission been rebuilt?

hows fluid?

low can do this and overFULL can do this too...

id probably do a filter/tranny fluid change and it should help... then put some additive in there if it keeps doing it (valves might be sticking)

it was rebuilt by a buddy with all the best parts available about 1 1/2 years ago. It was originally an FLP IV. All the parts were changed at the rebuild except the hard parts. I've got close to 500 RWHP/500 RWTQ (427ci N/A) and its been great the whole time. 3:73 gears, Strange 12 bolt, 3200 stall. Never been to a track. Shifts like day one still but this wierd banging started about 6 months ago and has progressively gotten worse, now its just pathetic.

Fluid is at the correct level. It was checked a few times over the past couple months by my buddy who rebuilt it.

We're gonna take it out and check the whole thing I guess on Saturday, I can't keep letting it do this. It bangs so hard that the front end pops up a little, its just BAD. My rear engine seal is leaking and I think this is why. The rear seal has been fine for almost 6 years, now its leaking.

At least its my good friend, he isn't charging me a penny to check the whole thing out, including R&R. I just have to buy whatever parts I need and he'll put them in. He's gonna do the rear seal while the tranny is out too.

I'll let you knwo what we find.
