What could be the Issue with the 4l60e??
POSTING FOR A BUDDY:
This MAY be a stupid question...
Just did a motor swap, and has a 2001 5.3L Vortec ( LS1 ) and a 97 4l60e auto tranny from a Trans Am.
They bolt up just fine of course, but will it work???
Got the car running, and get ready to put it in gear and she does nothing but rev. Have the Main circle harness connected, but not the VSS( vehicle speed sensor ) im more then sure that needs to be connected to tell the PCM to shift? right or no? the LS1 and the LT1 have different connectors for the VSS also??

this might be a silly question, but is the lt1 connector to the vss and the LS1 vss is different? If the VSS is on the drivers side of the tranny, then why doesnt the vss connector go over that far?? it sits on the pass. side with the green circle plug. yes it has fluid in it. Not sure about the Pump?? what pump could possbaly get damaged?

You would need a special converter or adaprt to bolt the LT-1 trans converter to the LSX engine. Just like if you were installing a TH350 or 400 to the LSX engine it is likely you damaged the pump. Unhook a cooler line and start engine momentarily and see if any fluid comes out. If not then you have your answer provided its full of fluid.
The pump for the trans is directly behind the converter and driven by it. If you just bolted the 97 trans and converter directly to the lsx engine then thats likely where you will find your problem. Its not a direct bolt up.
