Question cheapest way?(oxymoron)

i am 16 in high school, and i think my tranny is going to die, by the end of the summer. my question is what is the cheapest route for me to go? a turbo series?

get it rebuilt by someone locally or send it out to be rebuilt?

or just buy a level one performabuilt?
maybe someone has a slightly used tranny (couldn't buy till end of summer tho)

im not that worried about my gas millage going down i am more worried about it being a long lasting "cheap" (isn't that a oxymoron?)

i also want to be able to go to the track (5 times tops) a year. so that has to be in consideration.

any input would be great.

A junkyard Th350 will handle the power with no problem. My 69' came with a stock rebuilt when i bought, had little over 47k miles on it and it handled about 500hp for 2 years before i bought a bullet-proof one (the original was still running strong)

But for a simple swap a used 4l60e is the way to go.

i would save up for a performabuilt or unless u can find a well known shop in your area that can build you a good trans.
