Default Budget Auto Transmission

Can it be done, i have never read anything about it. Basically the 4L60E is weak. With just bolt ons and a stall converter this thing can barley take the punishment. The idea of 100 shot of nitrous and a MS3 revving to 7000 makes my 4L60E's teeth cringe. How can you build a half reliable transmission that can take some abuse. Would it be easier to just put a stock 4L80e in there? I do need an overdrive so TH-350 and TH-400 are out. Thoughts?

Wel budget and tough auto fall into the oxymoron category, However you may want to look at our level 1 its reasonable. As far as the 80e goes even with a stock one I would not say its and easy or inexspensive

just look around at shops, I searched everywhere to find a good deal on getting my tranny built, then got lucky, there was a well known small trans shop that totally beefed my 4l60e up and he was the cheapest by 800 over everyone else and he gave me warranity with it, the trans runs works awesome too i love it. Just look around, theres somebody out there that will hook you up

When it comes to the 4l60-e there is no cheap to it. Spend the money and get something that will last. I have a Performabuilt Stage 2. I have the MS3 Cam, LS6 heads, and 150-shot. The performabuilt will last.
