After Different tranny/stall install... Sluggish?
I have a LM7( ls1 base) 5.3L vortec swap into a car of mine. I got a LT1 4l60e tranny and a stall from a guy. everything bolted up fine and workd. Then somehow the bellhousing fell apart( was cracked so it broke ) but with this setup the car was ballsy, and would burn rubber like crazy!
Now i have a LS1 4l60e tranny and stock stall, and now i get on it and its sluggish? Even when i would punch it, it wouldnt even spin the tires like it did with the LT1 tranny and stall?

LT1 Converter diameter -298 mm
LS1 Converter diameter - 300 mm
Not a big difference in diameter, but the internal configuration is also different, the LS1 has low stall components. The LT1 probably stalls about 500 rpm higher, getting you more in the power band, thus the smoke coming from the rear tires.
I would suggest a stall change.

Ill eventually do a bigger stall. i have a few more things im needing to get done before all that. To bad i cant run the LT1 stall in the LS1 then, cause i was amazed how sluggish the LS1 stall is.
