Default Vig3200 installed and now bouncin the rev limiter

... I have made some adjustment to the shift speed and shift firmness but I am a little confused on the the RPM/MPH shift points. I see everyone changing their shift points up 1-2 mph per hour but would that make the problem worse by shifting later??? I have adjusted my shift RPM down to 5800 but haven't had a chance to try it raining. If somone could clarify the MPH change to me that would be great... oh also there is a weird drop bewteen 1-2 at normal city driving speed. It changes real quick between 1-2 but you feel this drop and then it picks it up in second not nice and smooth??? anyone?

....the VIG3200 is a lovely animal, nice and behaved when you want but does it hit ... just need some small tweaks

Yes I have edit, sorry

The stock MPH change at WOT is 37 mph and I have easily met that before I hit the 6000 rpm parameter so I went ahead and changed my rpm shift point to 5800 and it seems to be fine. As for the drop at the 1-2 I raised the MPH that it changes at in the 0 to 37 % TPS range by 15% and that has also helped

Is raising the REV limiter to 6300 with stock internals not like rolling the dice

i take you have LS1EDIT? If you had HPP3 just lower the shift by 1mph untill it gets off the limiter. I raised my limit to 6300 stock internal just to have a little buffer zone without hurting motor.

How with edit, you have to edit both the MPH and RPM. Its not gonna shift untill both tables are meet. You can either set one low... say shift rpm maybe 5500, and them fine tune the MPH down untill its off the limiter. Its a common issue and many have probs with the limiter in the 2-3shift.

6300 rev limiter on the stock valvetrain is fine IMO. I used 6200 shift points and 6400 rev limiter when I had a stock valvetrain.
