Default Single or triple disk, and converter math

I am trying to deside if I should use a single or triple disk converter. If I use a single disk what kind of RPM slip should I expect to see at the top of third gear. If I use a triple I would have the option to lock in third if needed.

Car is a C5 with a vortech t-trim built engine, with a break in tune and 12lbs of boost we saw 614rwhp. Our plan is to increast the boost to 14lbs add meth injection some more timing put on a 90/90 (using ls1 right now) etc at wot to make around 700rwhp.
I want to stay in third gear at the end of the 1/4 using 3.15 gears and a 26" tall tire.
With no converter slip at 6500rpm that figures out to 147mph.
What would my mph be if I use a single?
Or should I just use a triple and not lock it up?
What would a normal slip %be?

IIRC what you are looking for can be found on Yanks web site. For your application I would recommend a triple disk.

IMO you are a prime candidate for a triple disc converter. I used the TCI calculator and your specs provided shows a little over 8.5% slip.

A good triple disc converter is just really good insurance and a great track/tuning tool for serious power adder cars. Do it right the first time and with your set up, you probably already know that.

Good luck!

If you are locking up at the track, you need a multi disk. Especially with that kind of power and future plans. You will have to play with the lock up command to see where it benefits you the most. But you will definitely pick up some ET from it with the FI. Give me a call if you need more info about it - 713-895-8834
