Default B and M Quicksilver Install Help!

Just bought the quicksilver and installed it on my 66 stang but I bought it for the 98 z28. I was wonderin if i have to use the shift cable that came with the shifter or if I could just use the stock one and just swap shifters out? Anyone who has changed shifters please give me some advice I need help really bad! It was a pain to install on the stang because of the stock shift cable so i'm kinda scared to do it on the Z if I have to use the supplied cable. Any help would be great!

Good point! I haven't tried it yet but I wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt anything by using the stock cable. Thanks for the input! I guess I'll try it this weekend!
