Default trans and converter issues

Just wondering if anyone might have some advice, i have been having issues with my trans and converter for a while. I think the converter stalls to high, it is extremely loose (Yank ss 4000). Just under light excelleration the car is stalling over 4000 rpm and under heavy acceleration goes over 5000. The lock up is also very annoying, the converter locks up at like 30 mph and the car pulsates and jerks but i think that is because the rpms are to low. We ran the car at the track and it launches good but seems to top out about 3/4 of the way down, it runs the same mph on motor and on nitrous and the rpms are at the verge of pegging the rev limiter.

The stall may be too loose for your application but also it sounds like you need some tuning done for that stall. I really don't suggest you continue allowing it to lockup at such low speeds 40 plus should be min IMO This is not the converters fault but rather the tuning for your car as all the issues may be.

I had a sightly similar experience with my Yank 4000 at the track. My car has a th400 so no lock up, but it did top out before the end of the 1/4 even though I thought I should have had enough gear/ tire. I guess the Yank converters have a good amount converter slippage on the top end. My car launches like a ****, but I just wish it didn't slip so much on the top.
