Default Converter questions?

Primarily a bolt-on car, stock internals. Need a good LOCK-UP converter. Thinking about a Vig3200. Willing to listen to any reasonable viewpoint.
Questions,
1.) Do the Vig converters actually lock-up at low speeds (30-45 mph)?
2.)What is the difference in pump sizes, I see differenct people saying that they have for example a Vig3200 with a #7 pump?
3.) How much of a pain is it to hook up a manual lock up switch for a converter? Who's switch would you recommend, if you would recommend one at all?
4.) Oh yeah, I have a stock tranny and 3.23's, what STR should I go for?
5.) I hear people say that the Vigs lose a little on the top end, is it enough for the occasional racer to worry about?
Sorry so long, I would rather try to get all of my questions out there at once instead of stringing them out. Thanks a bunch!!!!!! <img border="0" alt="[USA]" title="" src="graemlins/patriot.gif" />

Default Re: Converter questions?

1) yes
2) the pump size is the same. the blade angle changes and this changes the stall. More stall = more performance, but looser feel driving arround in the city.
3)not too hard, but WOT lock-ups are hard on the converter so be careful how much you use it.
4) the Vig 2800 and 3200 are good choices for use with 3.23s and stock internals.
5) The 2800 and 3200 normally aren't too bad in terms of top end loss. The 3600 has a pretty weak top end, IMO

Default Re: Converter questions?

All I can say is that I LOVE my Vigilante. I actually gained on the top end with mine.

I can't answer all of those questions, but I can say this.
With the install of my Vig, my e.t. went down by 5 tenths, and my mph went up by 2. Also, I didn't have good tires, so my 60 ft was the same with it and without it. So, to lose 5 tenths and gain 2 mph, I would think that a good converter is quite nice on the top end.
