Default Pro series band

I just had a Pro Series band fitted in my new box with other stuff. Is this a standard width band or is it the wide spec?

It is not a wide band like the ones from Alto. It is a factory sized band.

Pros and cons? I was afraid it was a stock width.

The Pro Series band from Raybestos is their version of the Hi-Energy material that Borg Warner uses on their band. Unless you have over 750 HP consistantly, the stock BW Hi-E band or the Pro Series band from Raybestos will work just fine. The accumulation and feed hole size in the separator plate is what will keep this band alive, even with the stock Corvette servo that comes in the LS1's.

I'm just curious why my builder would have chosen this band when he went all out on all the other components? PBA, my builder did a great job with the accumulation, it feels really fluid between shifts at all throttle positions.

This band is a "good" band, there is nothing wrong with it. Unless you have over 750HP and you are hard on the unit, I would give this a second thought. I am glad the accumulation setup worked out for you.
