how would u know ur torque converter is going out???

how would u know ur torque converter is going out??? hey guys, i know i have a M6 but my brother has a 1998 S10 and it feels weird driving, you can lightly tap on the throttle and it wont move. it feels like it slips off acceleration. when ever it down shifts the car does not move much, and the torque is so vague. the tranny fluid is fine and it shifts smooth and new tranny filter and oil! its also worse with the ac on! could it possibly be clogged cats??

if the motor is free reving when you tap the gas then its something more then likely trans related. could be the the converter also. i would say take it to a trans shop locally.
