I'm going with one of these converters in the 3500 stall range. I'm just trying to narrow it down. Can I get some replies from you guys with info about what stall and STR you have, what gears your running, overall drivability and any codes you've gotten along with the year of your car, ET and 60' times if you have any (including what tire you used) and your overall satisfaction with your converter. This is an expensive decision to make and I just want to make the right one. Thanks for any help guys.
EDIT: Also, what tranny cooler should I be running with a 3500 stall and 2.73 gears, and would you recommend for or against a TransGo shift kit, and if for, how many washers. Thanks guys.

We just put a TCS 3800 stall convertor in my son's 99 Z28. It is a 2.5 str. The car has 3.23 gears with long tubes with true duals and a G5 cam as the main modifications. It has not been tuned yet. The driveabilty of the convertor really amazed me. It needs programing to set the tranny lock up speed to 35 mph, but other than that it is wonderful around town. Shift points are at 6000 rpm with the stock programing. The engine rpms fall back to 5100 at each shift. Although tire spin can be induced at almost any speed below 50, the convertor is very easy to modulate off the line. We haven't had it to the track yet so I can't report 60 foot times or et gains yet.
top end pull is exceptionally strong. Derek at TCS really knows his convertors. We went with each of his suggestions and he built us a convertor that is almost perfect for our car.

My vote would go for TCS also. Derek is probably the most knowledgable converter person you will ever talk to and definately has the best customer service.

I'm actually leaning HEAVILY towards a TCS 3500/2.5 converter for my 2.73 geared car (hopefully 3.42s by the end of summer) and was planning on running the B&M 24000 cooler and no shift kit for now. The more input the better from any owners of the converters mentioned.

I've been running the B&M 24,000 cooler with great luck. Excellent piece for just fifty bucks. We installed a B&M shift kit in Johnny's car but I'm not too impressed with it at all. Shifts are not too much faster or very much harder than stock. In my car I'm using a TCS 3800 stall also but with a 2.35 str and a longer shift extension to take advantage of the torque a 300 shot of nitrous can produce. I'm also using a complete TCS stage three transmission. After driving Johnny's Z I think I'll probably be restalling to 4200 real soon. Their unlimited free restalls are going to save me a lot of money in the next year or two!
