Ok I have a 1999 T/A A4 with 2.73 gears. I'm in the middle of the road with either getting a Yank SS3600 or SS3800. It's a daily driver with little track use (NYC SUCKS). Last time I trapped a 104.2 MPH with a 2.1 60' on a .792 R/T. Will the torque convertors add to my trap speed? If so, which one will trap higher and by how much? Thanks alot.
You should gain MPH after the converter swap. The stock converter is 94% efficient and the SS3600/SS3800 is 95% efficent.

Since efficency is pretty close to stock, you should gain a little mph from curing the dead spots on the upshift. The car will feel much faster from a roll.
If you spend most of your time driving in NYC, I'd go with the 3600. It will be a big gain and not as loose as the 3800.

Well I don't drive in Manhattan too often. I do alot of highway driving so traffic is not a concern of mine and I'll be moving out to Florida anyway. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I say NYC sucks because I either have to go to Long Island or New Jersey just to get on the track.
