Default tranny

First thanks so much for your help! Yes how do you know when it is in the pump? When the tranny is bolted back in how do you move the fly wheel in to position to screw in the three bolts. I just put the tranny back in so all nine bolts are tight. I am trying to move the fly wheel but it feels very tight.

You may have already damaged your pump, you should have 1/8" or so between the flexplate and the tc with the bell housing fully bolted up.the converter should spin freely. if you did not seat the converter and forced it you could have damaged your pump. read here https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission/821738-torque-converter-installations.html

1st can you turn the converter itself by hand now ? If not that will be a problem and you may have damaged pump as for the flex plate it will be a bit hard to turn since the engine has compression

If you tightened down the trans and the converter was not seated, it would keep you from turning the converter over, usually results in pump damage. you have to remove the trans and disasseble the pump. it's been done before. took one to a trans shop a few years ago, cost about $130 if i remember correctly
