Default Transmission shifting problems

I thought I had noticed my transmission acting a little strange for the past couple days, today I finally had a real issue. I was going about 50-60 and punched the gas, rpms went to about 4000 and the car felt like it did not want to shift and was just shaking. When I let off the gas, car drove like normal. Any ideas what the problem is? What am I in store for?

I would suggest taking a look at the fluid level and condition to begin with.

Then, have it scanned to see if there are any trouble codes stored and get back with us.

I suspect your 3/4 clutches are slipping... but it could easily be an engine misfire as well.

I have checked the fluid level recently, it was red and right where it should be. My check engine light had come on the other day but went off. I'll scan it when I get home. If my 3/4 clutches are slipping what kind of repair am I looking at?
