Default To those that have converted from an M6 to an A4.

Im just wanting to know what Im getting myself into and what things that I need to look out for. If you have any suggestions/tips/tricks that you would like to share with me and to anyone who is interested, I would appreciate it. If you could rate it from 1 to 10, what would you say it was? (difficulty) I know of the main things that I will need for the conversion, but if you could please, list everything that I will need so that I can visually check off the stuff that I already know that I need, and write down things that I may not know of or havent written down. Thanks a mil'!

If anyone has done a 200-4R conversion and would like to chime in, it would be even more helpful! This is what Im in the process of doing and I need as much info/knowledge as I can get before I jump in! Since Ive been on here, Ive only seen about 3 or 4 people that have done this and I dont see them post much. So hopefully they will come across this thread, and jump in. Thanks in advance. Here's to everyone...

I know that I will need everything that a 4L60E consists of, but will anything need to be modified? I know that Im going to have to get the automatic portion of the console. The shifter, the shift handle/****, and the linkage. By the way, what all linkage do I need and what are the correct names for them? Will anything need to be modified in the console section or will everything be a direct swap? For instance: Does the hole in the floor board need to be enlarged or a plate to make it smaller, will anything need to be relocated, drilled, removed, etc.? What about the wires or whatnot that whenever its in reverse, the reverse lights come on? What I do know is that, the conversion that Im doing, (200-4R) the stock shifter, console, linkage, etc. can all be used without any modifications with the 200-4R. But the thing is, Im coming from an M6 and I need to know what has to be done to switch everything out? About the tranny crossmember, I can use the M6 one, but will have to be relocated a 1/2" forward with using some spacers custom fabricated. Anyhow, dont want to pile too many questions at one time, so we'll go from here. Thanks in advance. Every bit helps!

Oh...thanks bro! Good tip! Im just kiddin'! What...you dont think the 200-4R is easy? Its actually easier and cheaper going from an M6 to a 200-4R than it is from a 4L60E. You dont have to do anything to your PCM and you use the M6 crossmember. Just gotta get a few things that go with the 4L60E and bam! LOL Well, if its easy with the 4L60E, then whatcha got for me? (tips, ideas, suggestions, recommendations, tricks, etc.) Thanks
