Default 6L80 into a 2wd??

Just had a complete 2008 L92 & 6L80 fall on my lap and plan to install into my 1980 camaro.
Has anyone changed this trans over to two wheel drive configuration? Will I just need a tailshaft housing or is the shaft different also?
On another topic, where can I find a pcm other than getting raped through the dealer?

Thanks, Joe

The 2wd shaft is longer than the 4wd, so you will have to change the output shaft... I think speartech has a standalone controller for the 6L80...

Thanks for the info on the shaft length, that was what I was afraid of.

I plan to install it with the L92 so I will use the OEM wiring and PCM & TCM.
Thanks again, Joe

There was a post either in this section are hybrid fourm about a guy trying to install a 6L80 in a Jeep. Don't know if his is a 2whl or 4whl one. Might be 2whl. Might do a search as he may need a 4whl one and a swap might be cheaper option for you both.
