Need help with tranny cooler.
Need help with tranny cooler. This will be my first time installing a tranny cooler. I've done some reading on the install and I learned a little. The item number on the cooler is 70266 and it came with no hardware at all. I've read not to use the hose that comes with the cooler anyway.....so what size hose to use and fittings? I'm going to install it dope style. Any help is need...mostly which size hose and fittings. Also I'm thinking about bypassing the radiator....good idea??
FWIW, I have a smaller cooler and will be using 3/8" ID Goodyear transmission line.
I believe your cooler has female 1/2" NPT. So from the cooler, first thing you'll need are two 1/2" NPT male adaptor fittings. What's on the other end of these fittings depends on how you plan to configure the set up. (Hard line or hose?)
I will say that I've seen many people using similar coolers while bypassing the radiator and reporting good results.

Yes bypass the radiator, I think the hose's are 3/8" and make sure you tighten eveything down. Do it right the first time. I screwed up the first time I did my B&M and I had to tow my car home.
