Newby SS converter ?'s I just got my 2000 SS, everything is stock on it except for the exhaust. Besides the basic bolt on's my first mod will be a converter. I've been watching the forum for a couple weeks and I have built up some questions. Im leaning towards the TCS 32-3400 stall. Now besides the actual converter and trans. cooler what else needs to be done. I heard people talking about deleting the torque management, etc. Will I need to change my shift points also? I just want it done right the first time around. Thanks for you help everyone.
Re: Newby SS converter ?'s First...... You need to buy my 500 mile old Yank SS 3800 and B&M 24,000 GVW tranny cooler....both for $800 shipped to your door. Then you might possibly need tuning, as in shift points, and deleting torque management. The SS-3800 even with my 2.73 gears is VERY nice to drive..even around town. It hits VERY hard when you get on it....it is the best of both worlds. I needed tuning after the convertor install...but I think a lot of it had to deal with heads/cam, tires, suspension changes all at once, including the convertor. I felt torque management a lot. The shift points were fine though. I have heard if you have stock hp, you might not feel torque management?! Let me know... this is an awesome convertor/cooler package for cheap!!!
