Default rebuild the stock tranny?

Is there any way to rebuild and beef up the stock 4L60e tranny or would I have to get a completely new tranny?

I would contact Frank from performabuilt he can help you with that. Unless you know someone that knows alot about a 4L60-e I would just buy a already built transmission that has a warranty.

check your local known race shops and trans shops around your area, 4l60e isnt a uncommon trans and they can build it and give you a warranty.

Rebuilding stock transmissions to a high performance level is what we do every day!

Feel free to give me a call... I don't mind discussing it with you one bit.

I'm planning on rebuilding the tranny as the winter project so it'll be a few months before anything happens. Was just wondering if it was possible. I'll let you guys know when I'm ready for it. Thanks.

I like that idea myself! I actually encourage guys to take their time and make the right decision about their transmission after doing careful and extensive research. You would not just take an engine off th shelf so to speak... why would the transmission be any different?

I help guys plan their builds each and every day... many do not move into the actual build for months after speaking with me. Don't hesitate to give me a shout!
