Anyone know about the 4L70E?
Its not appreciably stronger if at all in fact the only notable difference I have seen is the in the addition of and input speed sensor

The shafts in the 70 are supposed to be hardened with a different process and I have been told that they are stronger than the previous designs. Not sure if that is true because I have seen first hand a few of them have broke output shafts. We sell a billet upgrade for these units. As for the input speed sensor that Frank mentioned above, this input sensor is not only found in the 70. I have seen it the 60 units with 4 pinion planets. There is a guy named Zippy that posted up some info on this a while pack on performance trucks if I remember correctly. He stated that the input sensor is found in the 60, 65 and the 70 in 06 and later units. However not all 06 and later units are using the input sensor. Got to love change! Vince
Correct all trans with the input sensor are not 70e units I have seen all the above and even through 2007 all do not have the input speed sensor
