Does anyone have any experience with Fbodytrans transmissions. I looked at them and they claim that they make the strongest 4L60E. I haven't ever heard anything about them though.

I just ordered one from fbodytrans.com on Monday and they called me and let me know that it shipped today. I can't wait. I'm tired of driving like an old lady just to save my stocker that's on the way to the scrap heap. I looked around a bunch and thought they offered the best transmission around. I don't feel like doing this twice like I see a bunch of other people doing. I'll let you guys know how the thing goes, but so far nothing but a big huge thumbs up for their service and knowledge.

FLP Stage IV and I'm loving it haven't had it long (only about 3000 miles and about 20 passes at the strip) but sucker runs cool, shifts hard and just feels good

Hey,mhoward is that m for Moe,LOL.Good luck and keep us posted on your trans.

horist,good,3000 miles and some track passes, did you spray it with the FLP trans?

There was a post where the max HP on a built 4L60E was put about 600/450Tq without having to rebuild it every 40-60 passes. It seems that most around or under that HP # hold up a while.

I put up a post about the 4STB[Ford with OD]Gm bell housing, check it out.

nope haven't sprayed yet, i did heads/cam earlier this year and was worried about fuel... i've got some bigger injectors on the way so then I'll set it up for a 100 shot again (hopefully my stock fuel pump can give me enough fuel for just 1 or 2 passes on the gun )

Anyone else have one from fbodytrans.com?

I think I'm gonna need one soon - starting to slip on 2-3 shift pretty bad.

Century Automotive rebuilt mine but it has only been in the car since Dec. 9. Only some wide open test runs on the street, no runs at the track yet. Seems fine so far but too early to tell. Fast service. In one day, out the next.

none of them are indestructable. the TH-400 will last longest but most inefficent. i would like to keep OD, my choice would be Rossler.

Since this was brought back up, I thought I'd add to it: I used an Art Carr built 200-4r for over 30,000 miles in a car that weighed 3440 and ran 11's. It finally broke, but only cost a few hundred to have repaired again and had no trouble after that with 11.20's before I swapped it for a 3speed to do some more serious racing(power adder) in a not so "street car" anymore. Wasn't in an F-body at all, but that shouldn't matter here.

Well my 200-4R should be here this week from Century Automotive (all billet parts) and my car weighs close to 3700lbs and ran 10.50's with the 6 speed. I could not justify not being able to still drive my baby on the street without an overdrive and this seemed to me the only feasible way to go for the OD.

I will updatde because it won't take me long to get it on the track.

Yank 4L60e Sportsman tranny and Yank Thruster Pro 4200 Tq. converter.

Hundreds upon hundreds of 1/4 passes, used as a dailey driver for two years and never one small problem. no, not a one.

It shifts like the Hammer of God and knocks down 1.3 60 foots.

Yank makes me smile and want to do a little dance... just like fluffy.

Evo98Z:

I installed a Stage I from Fbodytrans (Combination Motorsports) about 3 weeks ago and it has been working very well. Another local LS1 installed one about 2 months ago and I haven't heard of any problems. My racing days are pretty much over but what sold me on their setup was for $1400 I got the tranny, B&M cooler, deep pan, shift kit, and a 12/12K warranty. The only complaint I had was that the transmission did not ship with a tailshaft. This is due to the fact that the core used may not come from the same model vehicle (ie. truck). They do include the seal needed to swap the tailshaft from your old tranny. It was more an inconvenience than a problem. My unit also came painted gray which I covered with black.
