Default 4l60e problem

Yall take a shot at this......

If I'm going down the road, and take my foot off the gas and coast for 20 seconds in 4th gear, then give it a little gas, it's like my torque converter unlocks and slips 4th gear.

Which is weird, cause I can drop it down into 3rd, it'll go into third with no problem, put it back in 4th, it'll go back into 4th gear with no problem, then lock back up.

I can acclerate with it in 4th, no problem, converter locked up or not, it doesn't slip, so it's not the friction plates. It's only when I take my foot off the acclerator for about 15 to 20 seconds, and reacclerate is when it does it.?

I'm troubleshooting, but as of now, I have came up with nothing.

Any ideas?

When you take your foot off the throttle the converter unlocks and there is no overun in the OD position so the car will feel sorta like its in neutral or slipping when you come back on the gas until the engine catches up with the trans
This would be a normal sensation there is overun in 3rd so you would not feel that.

Default converter

4th was slipping.

The converter wasn't unlocking, it isn't supposed to unlock at 0% throttle until it coast's down to 38mph, and the PCM was still giving me a command of 4 on the converter, which is the locked command.

I was watching it on MX Scan, it' was definetly supposed to still be locked, I was moving faster than 38 at the time. Even after it unlocked, and you'd give it the gas, it was slipping.

I drove it for a little bit, said the hell with it, now 3rd's slipping too, bye bye 3-4 clutch pack.

Good news though, I just purchased:

New pump
friction plates and steels (Z-PACK for the 3-4 pack)
new rubber and gasket set
corvette servo
large boost valve
transgo shift improver kit (small kit)
new 2-4 band
filter
