Why Me?? Trans Cracked!! Here is my issue. The car shifted fine and I did not feel anything was wrong. I am having my engine installed next week so due to low oil pressure and a blown head gasket. I got underneath the car to apply penetrant oil on the manifold bolts and I saw this....
What can I do? My money is really tight right now with the engine build. It still has the stock trans mount. I did buy this car used about 6 months ago so there ain't no tellin' what happened.

Well, it does not leak. I wonder how long I can make it? The crack is actually larger than what is posted. That is the best pic I could get. It goes up the the top. There are no cracks around the bolts though.
The area that covers the torque convertor is the area that is cracked. This area does not hold fluid. It basically covers the top of the torque convertor. That is the best way to describe it. I will try to get better pics tomorrow.
You need to get a new case or have it welded. If the case is cracked like I think it might be, you have some issues here. The problem is if it is not already damaged, you are going to tear up a pump bushing and the converter. Your picture is kinda sucky! Is this a whole or crack? If it is a whole you might be ok. I have seen where a flexplate/converter bolt comes out and bounces in the bellhousing. Sooner or later it punches a whole in the case. It can be repaired. Good luck. Vince
