Default TH350 vs TH400

I currently have a 6 speed but I think it's about time for an automatic. I'm curious which one is the better choice. My car sees alot of street time. I thought all the big dawgs were running 400's but then I just read that ARE is running a 350. Thanks for any input. Mods in Sig

400 if it's going to see alot of street use. 350 if it's primarily a track car.

The TH350 in ARE's car is a big-dollar custom piece that is made to last maybe 50 passes.I was going to get one for my car but the $8,000 price and short life made me decide on a TH400.Under 500rwhp go th350 over that th400 if you want it to live.

HEHE I'm on the waiting list. Look's like my M6 days are about over. Are you interested in my setup?

I've been running a TH-350 in my 9 second car. It's just a regular old junkyard tranny with good clutches, a kevlar band, upgraded drum, a transbrake, and a 2.75 1st gear. We probably put about $750 in this tranny not counting the brake and 2.75 1st gear which don't have anything to do with adding strength.

TH350s can be built to handle some big power if built right and they're lighter and more efficient than TH400s to boot.

TH400s have the advantage of being cheaper to build (they don't need an upgraded drum to be strong.)
