Default 3800 stall converter q??

A buddy of mine has just put his car in the shop at tsp and getting a forged 346 w/ a ms4 cam. Now he needs a stall and is wanting to go with a 3800 stall. Just wondering what is the best brand to go with and about how much would one cost? and also is there any tranny upgrades that need to be done along with the stall install. he has a stock tranny for now but will be getting an upgraded tranny later on.

I would recommend our single disk billet converter. I would go with our "4C" converter - which is about a 3800 stall. They sell for $750 with free shipping. It has great results at the track and still maintains good street manors. You will need to do some programing for shift points and lock up and maybe turn off some codes. It will be a direct replacement, no trans modification needed. If he is going with a built unit soon, I would not suggest any trans upgrades. But you could install a shift kit to firm the shifts up.

I have to agree. The 4C is extremely streetable and we pulled 1.40-1.42s with it in our car.

Good luck!
