If I were in the position you're in the last thing I would do is jump in on the overhead bullshit defending a company, or more like it the trade.
I've had to make up excuses when I was doing AC work, like why I was mounting a $200+ thermostat on a customers wall when she just pulled a brand new one up on ebay for $30 shipped.
Bottom line is customers DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR OVERHEAD (AKA EXCUSES) ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE BOTTOM LINE PRICE.

Questions to the OP of this thread---Are you going to be more willing to pay the higher price because the guy just realized he has overhead to pay? Are you going to 'come to your senses' and realize that yea running a business is tough these days I'll just pay the extra? I bet not. I bet all you care about is the number on the bottom of the invoice right?

You don't care about or should care about or even be told that part of that price goes to the truck that had to pick up the core/parts, the gas money, the maintenance on this truck, etc. A customer does not need to be told this ****, yet I hear it all the time.

Why?

My brother/in/law is going to pull the dust cover when we go to pick it up just to make sure he put a new converter on.

Or just drained and painted it.
You're not going to see a shiney bare metal converter.
Theres a local converter shop around me that rebuilds them, and paints them.
There are also trans shops that drains clutch type converters, paints, and reinstalls.

I think omcar is talking about getting the correct stall speed. There are several stock ones.

Well the **** hit the fan…

I tried to compromise with him and before we could even discuss the payment he jumped up, started yelling, stormed out of the office, and took my keys out of the truck. I told him those were my personal keys with my house key on it and reached out and tried to take them from him. He snatched them out of my hand, ran about 15 ft, took my truck key off the ring, and then threw the rest of them in the truck.

He then told me that if I try to load my truck on the trailer, that his dodge would be on top of my truck. I told him to do it.

I called my insurance adjuster and he called the police. The insurance adjuster is all good with it and is siding with me. The police said that until I pay for services that I cannot take my truck and told me to take it up with the small claims court judge. So, I will and the adjuster will talk with the judge also.

They said if I took my truck I could be arrested for theft of services.

And then he told me in front of the police that a $15 storage fee would start today.

I really don’t feel good about my truck sitting down there all weekend; I feel that he’s liable to sabotage my truck.

OH... and that $640 case, was a used case that wasn't even cleaned before they spray painted it. Looked like ****. It's probably my original one.

Get your adjuster to take it from here. They know what to do.They should also pick up any storage fees.Don't mention sueing the guy till you get everything back. When you get your truck back take it to a reputable trans shop, even a dealer and have them write up what they find. Then take the guy to small claims court.
Good luck.

Am I wrong on this. But, I thought a shop can not keep your car if you call the pigs.

It's still your car.

Man, this is what makes people hate shops.
