Default trans help!!!

when i get on my car the conv lock's up and the car falls on its face, like there is no power. i cut the brown wire with a black tracer at the pcm, now the conv does not lock up but if its in drive or over drive it wont down shift? i can drop it to second but at full throttle it will shift at whatever i shift it at it used to go all the way to 6500 before it would shift(6500 is what i have it set at)? any help?

thanks

if you disabled lockup by cutting the wire the trans will act differently as I am sure it should be setting a code, But the fact it solved the fall on its face now points back to a tuning issue, With the wire cut I would think it would be going into "safe mode" anyway. I would reconnect the wire and talk to some people in the tuning section .You cant disable lockup simply by cutting a wire and expect everything else to keep working properly.

how could it be a tuning issue if it has been doing fine untill last night? i think it was falling on its face because with it in drive at a low rpm the conv would lock up and wound not down shift to unlock the conv.

well even then if it wont down shift that would still point to a tuning to sensor issue, The trans can only do what the PCM tells it to from what shifts to make to when the converter locks up and being that it wont down shift and the converter stays locked with the wire not cut tells me that thats where I would be looking. since obviously the PCM is telling the converter to lock and is not telling the trans to down shift.
