Default converter change after gear swap?

I recently got my car back together w/ a new motor and it was running great before w/ a cam only ls1 w/ 3.73s and a 3600 vig.
After taking it to the track, I can tell that I have way too much cam for the stall/gear. The car is a pig out of the hole.
This is a track only car, so I went ahead and put in a 4.86 geared chunk that I had already(it has a 9in). I was already going to up the stall to a 4500, but i'm wondering how much you think the gear change will mess w/ my stall? BTW the car has a race built 4l60 in it.

cam specs are 239/242 .617 .629 in a 6.0 iron block

i'll be taking it to the track this weekend to test, but I still like to see what stall guys are running with a short gear
