SS3600 Question?
I just bought an auto 01 Z28, it has all bolt ons and a small cam. Also has a fuddle 3400 converter with 3:42 gears. I am planning on switching to the yank ss3600, which gears would you recommend for this setup. Also may spray a 100 shot from time to time. This is not a daily driver, so gas consumption isn't the end of the world. I just want to get the most out of the converter. Any opinions please.
3.73 gears are popular. If you want more, 4.10 gears would work, but you may only realize it on the track. It all depends how you plan to use the car. If you want to take it on weekend trips, you may even consider sticking with the 3.42 gears. Your combination right now isn't bad. Why the change?
Once you install the SS3600 (good choice) and run the car with the nitrous, see what kind of rpms your crossing the line at. Are you using a drag radial at the track, and what size? At what rpm does the nitrous come on at? You might be ok with the gears you have and be better off using the money you would save elsewhere.
i went with 3.73. but im coming from 2.73 gears though.
but i went with 3.73 because i hear they were ideally the best gears for the A4 guys. but i also read up on guys running 3.42 and loved them.
