no 1st gear

Ok so after a good burnout I no longer have 1st gear. I am not to knowledgable on the workings of auto trannys and was wondering if it could be a shift solenoid and what all is involved in its replacement. Is there something i can do to determine the actual problem. Its a 4l60E in a 94 z.

Ok I have scanned for codes using "free scan" laptop software and got nothing, and thanks for answering so quickly

I would change the 1-2 A solenoid first

thanks...I don't want to sound stupid but I have never cracked the pan on my tranny. is there a write up or refference on its replacement. also this build is significantly more powerful then previous (not to mention the 325 DRs) is there anything else i should be doing while the pan is off.

ok so I took the car out today and its driving normal...I realize that there must be something wrong if it didnt want to go into 1st yesterday. Just alil strange
