Will my auto 98 TA be able to reliably handle 450hp? If now what are my options?

I think every trans will be different. It depends on miles, how its driven, and maintenance. Mine held up to 100K, while a buddys went out after 60K. Worst comes to worst, set about 1500 aside for a stock tranny rebuild, or about 3000 for like a level 4 trans with a converter from a sponsor. Performabuilt or FLT will be better at prices...

N/A.. no.. not reliably.. 450rwhp in an A4.. rear end should go first.. then your tranny.. then your engine.. slicks and minor bolt ons sometimes blow rears.. and 450 on a tranny it wont be too long...

if you spray it.. yea, you could make that power easily, and then some.. but you are still risking things..

read the stickies man.. its all there..
