I think the 6.2 from the Escalade/Denali and the same 6 speed auto would be better fit in that situation..

To everyone saying it's ugly.. because of the chrome? just think it sucks?

I think this is a stripper picture, and the front end will have more paint on it and less chrome.. The step side on that truck is not too flattering, but have never been a fan of the step side. I don't think anyone likes a brand new look right away, but everyone always comes around in a couple years.

From the rear it looks like a Nissan Titan.

Whats with the damn overly done fender flares?

It looks like an overgrown Colorado, and everything the Colorado couldn't be.

I was waiting to see how these new trucks look so that I could trade my 05 for one of these. I think Ill just stick with the 05.

I have yet to see the new GMC Sierra, then we'll see.

That's ugly as ****. The front is not TOOOOO bad, but the back view.. UGHHHHH.

I like the Tahoe front end with a smoother looking rear. No need to re-invent the wheel. I think they will also stay with truck motors (6.2 Escalade job) for an SS model. But you never know.

1. The Tahoe fron end would look better IMO.
2. The GMC looks much better. Believe me, I know. We start regular production of the GMT-900 in about 150 days.

Huge improvement IMO, but not quite the most stylish or brash fullsize truck made. The interior also worries me because the spy photos showed a sea of grey plastic, not good.

With fuel prices climbing and competition getting fierce, new trucks need everything they can get to stand out from the pack including radical styling. The original Avalanche with cladding was radical, the decladded model was neutered looking, and the brand new one is really bland.

The Silverado has used basically the same styling since 1988, I'm glad they had to the ***** to at least break away from it somewhat. I also like that they gave the truck a nice set of flares to add muscle. A truck should look like a truck, not a hunk of bland like the F-150 or new Avalanche.

The Titan and Ram SCREAM truck and look cool. The next Tundra oozes testosterone. The F-150 looks like wimpy ***. The Silverado is somewhere in between.

It's huge in every dimension, and it has an all-new 5.7L V8 with an undisclosed amount of horses.

They dont look that different. Imagine the silverado with the hood actually latched, and under as many lights as that tundra. Personally i think GM has a problem where the first pics of all the new models show up in the WORST looking colors. That tundra looks excellentunder all those lights in blue. I think the silverado would look equally killer under the same lights in say....Black or hell even a green metallic.

Yeah, saw that on Auto Weeks website.

As good looking as the new Tahoe/Suburban's are, you'd think they could do better than that for the truck.

First impression? I really dislike it. They have a winner in the Tahoe/Avalanche design, this truck looks like a Nissan/Import.

Glad I bought another Dodge Ram instead, at least it looks tough like a truck is supposed to.

The cab looks too tall in that rear shot but, that might have something to do with the rear flares coming up almost to the bed rails. The front end just looks ugly in that picture. It would have been nice if they made the pickups sheetmetal look more like the new SUVs. The Avy, Sub, Tahoe, Esky all look pretty damn good.

The hood being up a tad in that picture also makes it look like that hood line goes straight across. The actual hood looks like it may be raised just a tad above the lights though which would be nice and is more like what the Tahoe has.

Hopefully the GMC looks a lot better as already hinted at in this thread.

The one thing nice about GM trucks is that aftermarket support is very good for them.

I couldn't agree more!! I am disappointed. I'll stick with a TBSS and borrow someone elses truck if I need one.
