Default question on programmers and engine covers

Hey guys, I am curious if I would see any gains with either a diablosport or superchips programmer on my V. I don't plan on doing anything more than exhaust and intake on it. With that said, Idk if the gains would be worth the $350 I would spend on the programmer. I am also looking at the fuel rail covers for the corvette, and wondering if they will fit the V. I know I have seen one with them on this forum, but on summit the only ones i see say they are for the LS1 vette, will they work?

Thanks for the help

yes, the ls1 or ls6 covers will work, but need to be trimmed a bit to fit.

What do they cost? I have a set of trimmed black ls1 vette covers gathering dust...

The Predator is a great addition to any V.

The Predator tune will add 15-20 rwhp to your CTS-V, while also reducing the torque management, disabling the CAGS skip shift function, and increasing the throttle response. I can assure you that short of a used N20 kit, there is no better bang for the buck, especially on a car with limited mod plans (but we all know how that works out... ).

The Predator also allows you to read and clear trouble codes, and datalog the car, plus it has several adjustable parameters to allow you to dial in the tune or modify it to your liking.
You can change rev and speed limits, alter timing or fuel at WOT, adjust for different gears or wheels /tires, and more.

Oh, and it supports custom tuning for when you do eventually go mod crazy....

so does the predator come with a tune specofoc for the V or do you have to mess with the parameters yourself? Are these dyno proven numbers? I have heard that the handhelds do not offer a substanital gain for these cars. I bought my red corvette FRCs for 75 but they were from a buddy. I wouldnt spend more then $100 if I were you someone has them laying around for that. Just about 5 minutes of trimming and then they pop right on.

do not buy a handheld, they are worthless. Go get a dyno tune by a local tuner, and have him burn it onto your pcm. You gain more power this way, and itll be safer, and custom tailored.

As far as frc's they do fit. Slightly dremel trimming is needed, but its very mild and easy to do. They run about 75-125.00 depending on demand and condition

no offense mike but my car ran like absolute crap intermittently with the canned diablosport tune on it. Sometimes it went into limp mode. When I removed the canned tune.....I had no more issues.

DYNO TUNE dumdumdum.

I got tuned by one of the ppl responsible for building the stock tunes for the diablosport programmers....so Im not being biased.....just honest.

Car runs 100x better with the dyno tune than it did with the can tune

I can agree with this guy that hand held programmers arent worth the money. I would get it tuned at a shop. But if you really want a hand held tuner i would go with diablo.
