Default First diff to Fourth

My car had the gen 1 differential (part #10361308) which I recently sold and purchased a lightly used gen 4 (part #25873498). Wondering if anyone has swapped these themselves and if they are identical in installation?

Reason I ask is the picture of the pinion shaft mount (for lack of a better term) in the picture of the Gen 4 differential looks different than the gen 1 I took off (it is just a stock photo of the gen 4 I bought so hard to tell for sure until I receive it).

I we be installing the driveshaft shop aftermarket driveline in place of my busted stock one.

Any tips or feedback?

The picture is not a CTS-V carrier. Propeller flange was a dead giveaway. My Gen 4 has the same carrier as yours.

Fourth gen on the left, second gen on the right

Crazy modified Gen 4 (from the old Mike @ New Era thread):

Doesn't it look like they basically bought a whole bunch of BMR toe rods and bolted them all over the place?

Ok that's what I thought but the dealer parts website I was looking at was confusing as **** about the different carrier part numbers, thought is was the CTS base model that has the propeller but wanted to make sure I was correct!

I better call the guy I bought it from and make sure its really what he says it is!

Thanks fellas!
