Thank you! I would have never thought about that.

I do have 1 other question. I read the vette rotors will work as well for a direct swap. Technically it says z06 but is there a difference? Only curious because I'm trying to get this done this weekend and the rotors will have to be sourced locally now.

Camaro/v2 rotors work very well.

I currently have them on my car with v2 calipers, but want to swap to the z28 ccm brake kit but i also dont want to ruin them

i wish i saw this earlier before you messed with the hub. if you put it in the slot how it's supposed to be you can actually tap the triangle mounting plate with a mallet and it'll rotate. piece of cake.

you need camaro ss rotors in front, camaro/V2 rotors in back (they're the same). if you swap to the 6pot calipers in front you need the V2 front rotors.

Hmm, I thought I read somewhere about needing to machine the hubs in order to use the camaro rotors. I ended up using the c6 z06 rotors. Unfortunately they sit a little too far in so you have to use a spacer to even them out on the rotor.

I drove the car to work today, didn't really notice any problems. On the way home however I began hearing some troublesome sounds. I actually lost one of the caliper pins somewhere in transit and the other one backed out enough to let one of the pads pretty much fall out.

Anyone ever had this happen to them? I checked the other side and the pins are definitely backed out a little bit. Im confused as hell, not sure if this has something to do with having to space the caliper out or the fact that the rims are extremely close to the caliper. I can fit about a credit card between the 2.

i have a feeling this is due to the fact that you are using the wrong rotors.

there's no reason those pins should back out if they're pushed in all the way like they're supposed to. there's zero force on them except holding down the clip holding the pads down.

I'm using the rotors that are listed in one of the 5 lug write ups. It just said 06-09 z06 rotors. The only thing I can think of that might be the cause is not enough shims to center up the caliper, like I didn't push it out far enough. Main reason is because of the tight clearance to the wheels.

So as far as the camaro/v2 rotors, will those bolt up to the c6 hub without any modifications?

no, the hub bore is different.

i am running camaro rotors. it's what you need, not vette rotors.

I ended up drilling the stock rotors until I can get a set of the camaro rotors machined. Once i put the old rotor back on it was obvious how far off the z06 rotor was. Funny thing is there were multiple people who said the vette roto would work. Maybe they got lucky or just had a wheel that let them space it out enough.

Luckily Amazon has the brake hardware kit to repace the caliper pins, I was able to get the 1 day shipping so I can get it back together this weekend. Kinda sucks im out ~$150 for the rotors though.

Just for future reference https://www.adamsrotors.com/ will customize the rotors for you if you need the hubs milled out for another pattern drilled. I will be going this route when I do my 5 lug swap using base hubs, I think that will be the cheapest, easiest and efficient way of doing these lug swaps now

Awesome thankyou for that link. Even Living in a big city it is still somewhat hard to find a place to machine stuff like that.
