Default Ect

Im having an issue with a possible ECT sensor at least that's my guess. I took my car into the dealership because the ect analog and digital display pegged out to zero while driving. The DIC was saying engine hot-ac off, after the displays went to zero. After reloading the map to the ecm my scans were reading fine, even after the ect displays pegged to zero. I have no clue why this happening if you guys having any advice or have experienced this, please share. I'd greatly appreciate it. BTW this is a LS2 CTS-v.

Check to see if the connector is actually making contact with the sensor. I had issue with mine in midst of a swap and thats all it was. I took a pick and pulled the female pins out a little. From my research, you should be reading 900 to 4k ohms on the sensor if it is working properly, 900 being the colder range to 4k the hotter range.

Default Update

thanks man, so last weekend I was going to attempted to trouble shoot the ECT sensor but the gauge decided to work again after I changed the oil and reset the oil life display. So far the ECT gauges have been off and on, so trouble shooting has been difficult. I also just recently noticed the warning light for low tire pressure has been turning on but no sign of a flat or anything like that.

So the engine hot-ac off showed up again and I decided to change out the ECT sensor which didn't fix anything. After that I went ahead replaced the thermostat and that fixed it. The seal around the thermostat was not in a circle as it should of been. So far it's been driving well with out issues. Thermostat seal gone bad
