Default Difference between 04 and 05 CTS-V?

Hello guys. It's been a while since I've posted here. I think it's time for a CTS-V, and there is a silver one locally up here thats an '04, but before I move on it, I was just wondering if there are ANY differences at all between the 2004 and 2005 models? Thanks

Ben

Virtually no change for '05. I've owned both and here's the diff':

'05 has a revised antenna - Sat' radio and On Star combined vs. separate
'05 $1,300 Gas Guzzler
'05 Oil Temp' issue fixed
'05 No recall for suspension bolt and fuel jumper pipe
'05 Alarm not activated from factory - dealer must fix

There has got to be some great deals out there on '04's and seriously that's where I would start if sticker price is a concern. You can save $1,300 for GG tax, $1,500 owner loyalty rebate and there has got to be some dealer cash to clean up '04's out there vs. '05's. My guess is you will find an '04 V brand new for $45K with rebate applied.

Hope that helps,

Chris

What was the issue with the oil temp? Is this just a TSB that can be taken care of at the dealership upon buying the car? And the same with the suspension bolt and the fuel jumper pipe? Thanks for the info.

The oil temp issue is just a minor reflash that can be handled at the dealer. The other recalls (Suspension and fuel feed jumper) as well should be fixed before delivery.

There is one other very little known difference. The 2005 has a Passenger airbag light on the rear view mirror where the 2004 does not. I noticed this when I CADCTS and I got together.

And also I think the '05 doesn't have a compass in the rv mirror.

That damned thing has been catching my eye since I traded the '04 for an '05. I thought it was just me and that the '04 had it as well. I'm glad I'm not losing it, as I had suspected. Phew.
