Default Electronic Stability Program

Hey People,

I have another question that requires your wisdom....I was driving today after getting my car washed and got a "Service Stability System" message on my nav. I've noticed during several occasions that the ESP kicks in during dry pavement for no reason lately.

Where do I start on this one? Thanks!

Its the blower. Send it to me and I'll see if it does the same thing to my car.
I'd say take it to the dealer and they can read any codes that the car threw. The sensor might be going out. Good luck

HAHA! The blower is boxed and on its way, Jerrad.

Has anyone had any problems on the ESP before? Thanks!

Steering position sensor. Common problem with our cars. I had mine replaced last year. Warranty item.

There is a ground on your body frame on the PASSENGER side near the fuse box. Look straight down from that and you will see a little Ground wire attached to the frame. It is loose. Tighten it and you are fixed.

Soooo...I found the little ground wire but it was nice and tight on the frame. I'm going to try removing it completely and cleaning the surface out when I get more light...Hopefully that will fix it.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help!

The first thing I do when I start mine is shut off the TC and Stability Control then I take off so I wouldn't know if mine was having problems or not.

Okay.....let me say this again..................steering position sensor. No if ands or buts. It's not a ground problem. There are numerous cars that have had this replaced along with mine. I drove my car for a week with it doing this and the shop not being able to "duplicate" the problem. A couple of guys on the Cadddie forum told me this was the fix. Told my dealership to replace sensor and guess what........fixed.

My stability control problem was a corroded pin on the throttle position sensor. Just go down to auto zone or any place that will scan it for free. I have heard the steering position sensor wont throw a code so if you dont have a code I'd change the steering sensor. If it throws a Throttle position/pedal position Voltage correlation code, just unplug the tps sensor harness and see if you have any green pins.
